K-Pop introduced to Rahul Gandhi by Kerala's BTS Army

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi interacted with school students in Kerala's Alappuzha amid his Bharat Jodo Yatra and was left amused by a K-pop reference. The girl students told the Wayanad MP that they are part of the BTS army and that Korean music is quite comforting when they feel low.

During his party's ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi received his first introduction to the Korean music genre K-Pop and the wildly popular band BTS from a group of schoolgirls in Kerala.

Mr. Gandhi, a Wayanad-based MP for Kerala, chatted with three schoolgirls in a restaurant. The girls said they wanted to be nurses and work in South Korea when Mr. Gandhi asked them what they wanted to be when they grew up during their conversation.

Then, perplexed, Mr. Gandhi queried them as to why South Korea. The girls identified themselves as BTS Army members from Kerala and BTS fans.

The Congress leader was then introduced to BTS by the girls, who also shared with him how their music supports them in trying times.

The girls admitted, "We didn't go expecting to meet him. "When we heard he was approaching, we went to see him. He even called and bought us a "Sharjah Shake." We are overjoyed and ecstatic to meet someone so kind."

A delightful conversation with these amazing women who make up Kerala's BTS Army! Mr. Gandhi tweeted about his conversation with the schoolgirls and posted a video of it online.

Along with thousands of party members, Mr. Gandhi began the 13th day of his Bharat Jodo Yatra from Cherthala in Kerala.
