Since the beginning of human history, skin and hair care have been among the most significant social factors. One of the largest beauty marketplaces in the world today is Korea, although the love for a porcelain glow didn't begin until the new millennium. About 950 records and manuscripts from the Jangseogak Archives give us a glimpse of royal Joseon court culture, including early Korean cosmetics for both men and women. I'm here to share some age-old wisdom with you and (perhaps) put some of it to use for myself.

Self-care! the decade's key phrase. Naturally, the notion of taking care of oneself is not a contemporary one. The Joseon dynasty may have adopted a different strategy for "self-care," one based on antiquated medical procedures.

A fundamental principle of Joseon and even contemporary Korea is to have a cool head while maintaining a warm body. This opens up the body's blocked sections to a natural flow of energy. People in particular believed that wrinkles were a product of both the ageing process and a shortage of body fluids. These days, eating habits are frequently to blame. Sounds recognisable? It was thought that the skin served as the body's entry point for negative energy.

People were both interested and frustrated by the famous 10-step procedure of K-Beauty when it first entered the public. Korean women traditionally prefer radiant "glass" skin to heavy foundation, and a lengthy procedure that emphasises cleansing, toning, and multiple layers of hydration enables them to achieve the best brightness.

Korean beauty brands have significantly upped their game to compete in this cutthroat industry by providing unparalleled efficacy to satisfy the demanding requirements of the informed consumer.

This is an example of a typical K-Beauty night time skin care routine. Of course, you may skip a lot of these processes in the morning (such not using a make-up remover or an oil cleanser), and you can also regard a number of them as a weekly or monthly addition.
